Application Performance Management Analyst – 002ORL
Purpose of the position:
Information, Process and Organization (IPO) is the global IT organization within Schneider Electric.The Application Performance Management (APM) Service Line is an IPO initiative to support Business Units & Application support team in identifying, tracking and measuring of the performance and availability of business transactions across a network, be it a Cloud, Wide Area Network (WAN) or Local Area Network (LAN), from the initiation of the transaction to the resultant expected response
Responsibilities & duties
The Application Performance Management Analyst will work with project teams to ensure applications meet strict performance policies. This includes:
Understanding project deliverables and application details
Perform application monitoring setup, thresh-holding, alerting and dash-boarding with web/distributed applications
Propose mitigation steps for identified risks
Providing recommendations from a performance perspective based on understanding of application and results of checks
Collaborate with the Connectivity Team to keep up to date with IPO standards, policies and tools
Experience & Key skills
6-10 years of experience in Application Performance Testing role
Technical tool ownership and administrative experience with one or more tools within the Dynatrace Performance Monitoring Suite
Background in installation, configuration, upgrades and integrations of monitoring tools
Enterprise Portal and Business Service Management (BSM) integration experience with enabling non-Dynatrace tools to be included in the Enterprise Portal for a holistic enterprise monitoring view.
Background in best practices, on-boarding, monitoring enablement, setting thresh-holds, creating profiles and scheduling automated monitoring with alerts for critical applications.
Non-Compuware monitoring tooling experience such as SolarWinds, BMC, Riverbed SteelCentral, etc.
Knowledge of best practices for application and infrastructure monitoring and experience in enabling Command Center view of application performance.
Working knowledge of java/ java development
Working knowledge of Application servers like Websphere, Apache, Tomcat, etc.
Working knowledge of Networks
Academic & qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Computers Science, Information Technology or related fieldPersonal qualities & behavioural traits
Strong written and verbal International communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate with technical staff, as well as project teams
Keeping pace with standards and technologies related to APM
Experience supporting others in a technical capacity
Excellent business problem solving skills
